are awesome! I'm in no way affiliated, but I just put on a set of the Custom Pro 20-strand on my old Gretsch snare, and it was instantly improved. Odd, considering the stock snares were 42 strand, and the snare bed is quite deep.
The little tabs that touch the head near the snare bed really do decrease sympathetic buzz by a decent amount. I was pleasantly surprised to also find that the drum retained its characteristic response, and the sound was not too dry. My favorite rattly old beast has been tamed!
And the nylon straps they give you with codder pins is a great idea! You can change heads or wires without removing the snare straps, no matter what snare strainer/butt plate assembly you happen to have on the drum! Genius idea, wish I'd thought of it. The nylon straps themselves seem very sturdy, only time will tell if they are strong enough (I favor the plastic strips over cord for the strength).
I always thought Puresounds were a little too pricey, but they were totally worth it this time. This is the first time I've seen the bent corners on the edges, and it worked like a charm. The snares seem to lay REALLY flat on the bottom head.
Again, I'm not an endorser or anything, I just think that such a good product deserves a little buzz (Oh god what a terrible pun. Shoot me.).
