Default 1978 tama imperialstars with concert toms advice

First of all, brand new to the site and really excited to be here!
Second, I just bought a 1978 tama imperialstar (made in japan) from craislist and I had a few questions.

1)I paid $300 for a 24in kick, 14in concert tom with snare stand, 16in concert tom with tom arm and separate tom stand, 18in concert tom with legs, 1 straight cymbal stand, and 1 heavy duty boom cymbal stand with counterweight, oh, and plus a traveling case for the kick...all drums have zola coating on the inside...the drums are in pretty good shape for being 33 years old...do you think i got a good deal?

2) The drums came with the original heads on them, and I am wanting to switch them out. I want a deep, full sound...i've never had concert toms and i'm not sure what is best to put on them to have them sound great. On my other, more traditional kit, I have vintage emperors on my toms and I like them, but with this kit I want a big, deep, thunderous sound...bonhamesq...

So yeah, any help and or advice would be awesome...thanks everyone!

Very cool! Definitely check out the Evans Power Center heads for the concert toms. For the kick, the EQ2 or EQ3 would be great options. The EQ2 has much more of an accentuated attack than the EQ3 (just to give you a comparison). Both are very durable 2-ply heads.

Congrats on a kit!

- Evans Power Center heads
- Clear evans g2
