Default Dual base pedal for DTXplorer

I am a newbie in every aspect of playing, gear, etc.

I own a DTXplorer. I know that the KP65 bass tower that it comes with accomodates dual base.

But how do I implement it?

Do I buy an attachment of some sorts that will some with a second base pedal and I will use my current single base pedal to make it a double?

Or do I have to discard my current single base pedal that it came with and get a dual base pedal kit thing all together?

Do all base pedals interface the same way to the base drum tower (there is some kind of clamp in there that attaches them together), or is it a Yamaha specific thing?

I have the same KP65. Theres not much space for a double beater but it does work if set up right. You probably will need a complete new double pedal and make sure the beaters are as close to each other as possible on the pedal. If you already have a higher line pedal you may just be able to buy a slave pedal, check it out at GS or MF. Hope this helps. Did you buy the DTXIV?
BTW, any brand pedal will fit.

BASS pedal. Not base. Like the fish, not the ball.

Hey Haroldo...any one of these pedals should work...

Yamaha DFP8500 - $379 http://www.music123.com/Drums-Percus...6000000000.sku

DW 5002TD3 - $379 http://www.music123.com/Drums-Percus...6000000000.sku

Tama IC power glide - $379.95 http://www.music123.com/Drums-Percus...8000000000.sku

I given you just three pedals to look at; however, there are many more, both less expensive and more expensive. Again, I suggest you try them out for yourself at a local music store...and then shop for the best price..you can often get a better deal on ebay...good luck to ya...:)

I've been using that pad with the DW 9002 for the past four years. No problems at all. Zero. No adjustment necessary, just connect the pedal to the base of the pad and play. I did place one of those $5 kick/head protectors on the pad from day one as I read that the pads wear out. Mine hasn't so I guess it works. Joey
