Default dw vs. taye

I've recently started upgrading the hardware on one of my sets to the dw 5000 series. My other set has top of the line taye hardware. This stuff is heavy duty, double braced hardware. In my opinion the dw hardware is more expensive for equal quality.

Here are some prices from massmusic.net to compare:
taye 6300hbt boom stand $84
dw 5700 boom stand $95

taye 6300bt straight stand $65
dw 5710 straight stand $85

taye 6000 hihat stand $84
dw 5500d hihat stand $210

taye psk601c bass pedal $79
dw 5000td3 or ad3 bass pedal $179

As you can see where it really starts to get crazy are the hihat and bass pedals. For $179 from taye I could get a double pedal, or even a taye metalworks pedal which is comparable to a dw 9000 series pedal.

Also, that taye boom stand I listed is not the boom stand I would buy, instead I would get the bs6300bt, which instead of a regular boom arm, uses a 3/4" tube as a boom arm. This stand is much more rugged and even cheaper at only $72. dw doesn't have anything comparable in the 5000 series as far as I could tell. I only listed the 6300hbt stand because it was directly comparable to a dw stand.

It seems to me that when you buy dw stuff you are paying a premium for the brand name.

You're also paying a for large chunk of DW's advertising cost (which in-part is the pro support. Look how many pro's are plying DWs lately? that's gotta cost them) .
