Default Pearl H2000 Maintenance

So, recently I purchased the Pearl H2000, such an upgrade from my beat-up and quite used Pearl No-namer..

I haven't quite got the cams fine tuned to my liking(maybe someone who has owned one for a while can give me some guidance) but alas this thread is about oiling and maintaining this fabulous (and expensive!) piece of hardware.

Frequency of oiling? Is the chain the only portion I need to oil, or are there other troublesome areas?

First time owning something so perty' for the drums and I want them to last.

Thanks

*planning on getting the 2002chain Eliminators down the road, so any advice is invaluable.

You should normally only need to keep the stand free from any gunk (dust build up).
The chain rests on a felt lined cam, so there's really no need to overly oil anything.

Maybe some chain (or sewing machine--good call PFOG) oil on a rag and rubbed on it (once a year maybe?), but I wouldn't spray anything on the chain or chain area.

An air dust remover can is handy for clearing out anything that gets in the heel and any other parts and the chain.

I've had my Eliminator pedals for years, and the air can works great for cleaning them up. I haven't felt they've needed any oil on them on any portion of the pedal.

I just wipe mine down and check 'em out every once in a while...but if you feel that you should oil yours at some point, go ahead, and I'd use chain/sewing machine oil.

Have fun with the new stand!!

I generally only oil when stuff starts squeeking. I'm yet to oil my hat stand......if your's is new it shouldn't need it but if you feel inclined to, then oil the moving parts. I use sewing machine oil if I ever need to lube any of my gear.

Excellent, thanks guys. Now I just need to fine tune them and get them to my liking and nothing will stop me!

Can't wait for my Eliminators to arrive ^ ^
