Default Securing Snare Wires...Material?

what is everybodys favorite material for mounting snare wires? cloth, string, plastic strip, etc. I read someplace it may be better to use nylon cloth strip instead of the plastic. Can anybody explain why?

The clothe reduces buzz and acts as a small amount of muffling.
I use pieces of tie-dyed cloth. LOOKS AWESOME!

Preferably cord. But I'll also use the plastics strips and nylon ribbon.

Bob Gatzen mentions using nylon ribbon in one of his youtube vids....check there. Can't remember his exact reasons, but it's not a new concept. People have been doing it for years.

I use the Pure Sound Blue wire on all my snares.
Bought a spool of it. It's a no worry piece of equipment for me.
