Default Bass drum pad diy quickie

Alright guys so I've just ordered my new pearl Eliminator double pedal, chain and I am in the process of building a stand and pad to practice at while I am at the computer.

I do a lot of carpentry, so the design of the pad and stand are all set, I am just looking for suggestions for the material of the actual pad. I need some rebound but ultimately I am seeking the quietest materil I can work with.

Thanks in Advance

Default Re: Bass drum pad diy quickie

Take some flip flops (thonged slippers) and cut out a rectangular shape. I use about a 1 inch thick piece over my DW "Go Anywhere" practice set Bass pad. The original DW pad had too much rebound and when I went back to my acoustic kit, way too much difference.
Post a pick when you get it done!
