Default Bad Thread Breaks Out: What Do?

I've recently seen kind of a nasty thread on here, and I didn't quite know what to do with it. Some poor guy who played a generally unpopular style posted an article of sorts on the style, and got a bad response at first, and since I found it helpful, I posted a positive comment. It turned sour, and I wanted to try and be a white knight, but I decided against it and didn't contribute any more than my original post.

So what do you do if something like that happens? Ignore it and move on? Posting bumps it, so doing that wouldn't really help I suppose...

Just opinions on stuff like this.

Default Re: Bad Thread Breaks Out: What Do?

All I saw was a guy post his thoughts....and several others posted their thoughts. Not everyone agreed. I wouldn't call that a "bad thread".....just differing opinions. If you don't agree with what's being said, by all means speak your mind. That is your right old mate. There's a swag of threads here....disagreements arise frequently, yet disrespect is at an absolute minimum I've found. The forum is moderated splendidly. Stupidity, rudeness and outright trolling are dealt with quickly, yet the mods are sensitive enough to let "free discussion" carry on. People are not always gonna agree with one another and some will provide another point of view.......best thing about this place IMO.....there's something for everyone.

Do what you feel.
There are no protocols for this.
I would private message the person that was acting like a Butt head and reason with him.
(I hope that it wasn't me! LOL)

We all lose it from time to time.
I have said and done some wrong things here.
If I act like a jerk, I will always apologize and say that I am sorry.
Usually this is after someone points out to me that I have been a jerk.
I'm man enough to admit it, apologize, and I move on.

None of us are perfect and we all have days when we do and say the wrong thing.

If someone continually does and says the wrong things, The problem usually solves itself sooner or later.
No one will respect that person, they will keep on looking for trouble, and they will eventually get banned!
