Default Repair Hinge and Latch on Travel Case for Iron Cobra Pedal

Have the latches and hinges broken from repeated use on the travel case for your Iron Cobra pedal?
Here is how I repaired mine.
Simply buy some metal hinges and some draw catches and screw them into place.
The screws that come with the hardware will self tap right into the plastic pedal case.
Trim away the broken hinge and clasp pieces with a box cutter to make room for the new hardware.

The parts cost about $5 and it only takes about 20 mins to install them.

Nice easy up-grade, but are wood screws going to hold?

I would do rivets.

If you're gonna use those screws, I would heat them a little with a lighter first, then drive em in.

Or bolts with washers & nuts? (For those that don't have a rivet gun.)
But a cool idea, Bob. My IC case hasn't seen anywhere that much duty yet.

I repaired the case from my other IC pedal three years ago in the same manor.
It has been through hundreds of openings and closings since then and their have been no problems.
I just bought another used IC pedal a few weeks ago and the case was broken. That is the case that I just repaired that is in the pics.
I screwed the screws in with just a small screwdriver and hand pressure. They went in with little trouble.
You could also use an electric screwdriver, but I didn't need to.
I didn't feel like charging the battery on my cordless drill just to install a few screws in vinyl plastic.
