Oh, don't be fooled by my 'preferred style', that'll just be whatever I happen to be doing at the time. Variety is very important to me. In your band, I would take the same approach as you, because that's what fits.

Fair point, PQ. I was surprised when you went from playing guitar (and nose flute) in a quirky band with a simplified Zappa vibe to playing drums in a metal group. I like lots of musical variety too.

Before starting with this group I really wasn't into the style at all and in its first couple of weeks I was close to dropping out. Now I love playing this music and while my hands have mostly adjusted my right foot has a long way to go. Guess that's the hard part about hopping genres ...

Thanks Unfunky!

Your user name is relevant to me - Unfunkyfooted. I can't control my right foot these days and it messes up the groove. Next port of call is working on heel down playing ...

This thread wandered a bit - here's some pics of the DVD, which will give you an idea why we were so chuffed with what the guy did for us. His packaging was perfect and even included a CD version inside. I didn't even know he'd been filming us because I was too far gone in Drumland.

For the cover he scanned our poster, which I had to knock up quickly so I based it on a pic by my favourite illustrator ... I'm sure someone will recognise it ...
