Default A certain bass drum tuning

I'm looking for a certain bass drum sound that has to do with the tuning. I want a sound that has a lot of punch, a very subtle low end resonance and a little oomph as well. Right now I have it tuned with the resonant a little past fingertight, and the batter 2 turns past finger tight. This gives me a clicky sound that just seems really weak. I can feel the punch but something just doesn't sound quite right. Is it tuned "wrong" or is it just my basement's terrible acoustics? (lol)

There's a whole bunch of variables when tuning drums, but it sounds as if the tension on both heads is a bit loose. For starters tension the batter head until you get a good feeling or response from that head, then tension the resonant head for the sound you like. This is a bit generic, but not knowing all the details, it's a good starting point. The clicky or plasticity sound is probably coming from the loose batter head.
