Hollow Moon - The Lovers Don't Mind EP

Two tracks featuring me on drums from a band that's difficult to describe, but is a long way from the power metal I'm used to. See what you think. All comments gratefully received, rate or slate.

Thanks PQ. It's good stuff and you lay down some good, solid, swampy drumming (not bad for a guitarist! :). The music sounds like it would be fun to play.

The two songs are very similar. When Blue Eyes got going I felt like it was a continuation of The Lovers Don't Mind.

I thought the same. I kept switching between the tunes because I thought that they were the same.

No-one told me these were going to be a 2-track EP, I thought we were doing an album. They are very similar in many ways, the other songs vary a lot more. Interesting pair to put together like that.

Bob and I did the same thing - toggled between the tracks and compared.

Since they are so similar - and your others songs vary more - it might make more sense to listeners (this listener, anyway) for you to lyrically link the two songs, making Blue Eyes chapter 2 of one little story. I'm not suggesting anything pretentious like Part II Blue Eyes (the Dystopian Superego of Frank) or anything ... just two songs with a linked theme.

BTW, none of this means that I have problems with the music - I really enjoy the band's style on those tracks.

They might be linked in some way already, I'm never sure with this band. I really just do what I'm told with this lot, it's way too complicated to try and influence it beyond that!

I'm not sure what Blue Eyes is about, but I think The Lovers Don't Mind is about usuary. It certainly used to be.

Yeah, I like the vibe. Maybe needs to build a bit more with some tension & release thrown in. Good sounds.

I too like the vibe and feel. I'd like to hear more vocal hooks, (or hooks in general) - the songs seem to hold the same groove through out, yeah , like KIS said, more dynamics.

Ah, apparently it's an EP in progress, so more track(s), at least one, will be added at some point. Watch this space, I suppose!

EDIT: Apparently it's going to start as an EP and then gradually turn into an album.
