Help me out with some suggestions por favor. The Stanton Moore series seems like an obvious one but there's nowhere in my neck of the woods to try them out! |

Oh wait, that's a trash crash and fat hats. I was thinking it was trash hats and fat crash. Oh well. Not too far off.

Go to cymbalsonly.com and try listening to Istanbul Agop Signature hi-hats. Istanbul Agop is the place to go for the best & often funky pies.

Trashiest hats I've ever heard are Meinl Trash hats. I think they were made in cooperation with Benny Greb.
Varying slosh, sharp and grainy sound. Pretty trashy if I do say so myself.

I played my teacher's Bosphorus Hammer series hi-hats a couple days ago. 14". Definitely a very trashy sound. Relatively thin and not very loud, but sizzling-hot open hi-hat sound.

Cheers everyone. Will check them all out. I've had my eye on some Agops for a while now but those meinl trash hats sound like they could be really good for my current needs. Now to figure out a devilish scheme to get some money...
