Best bass beater for Roland KD 8?

I have the KD 8 kick drum trigger and noticed that the head is wearing. I use Iron Cobra felt beaters. I have read on other forums the rubber ones work well but there are some problems with Tama's rubber beaters. Roland recommends plastic but Tama does not make a plastic beater for the IC, just wood. Roland says that felt is fine but tends to wear out the head a bit faster. What have any of you found?

The plastic side of the DW beaters are good. Tama also makes a two-sided beater too. They both weigh about the same.

I use the two sided DW beaters with my Pearl Demon Drive double pedal but I'm afraid they might be too heavy and throw off the feeling of the Iron Cobras. Has anyone tried this combination?

Hi,
I have a Gibraltar avenger 2 double pedal (love it) but when i play too hard sometimes the beater will fall out and i will have to stop playing and put the beater back in, tighten the nut, and then resume playing. If i could fix this without using tape or glue that would be amazing, but if there is no other way just say so and then tell me how i should fix it. I really appreciate this.Thanks.
