Default new heads? bonham sizes

Alright time for some new heads. Currently Im running some powerstroke 4s on my tom batter heads. When i first got em i loved them but that was when i was into a good amount of muffling. So now im basically looking for a two ply head for sure (leaning towards emps) but i don't know if i should get clear, smooth whites, or coated. Also Im open for trying evans or aquarian. I just want something that wont ring on for years, but isnt dead. You know what Im talkin about. And FYI my sizes are 26 kick, 14 rack, 16 and 18 floors, yeah of course 14 snare. So help me out if you have any input. Thanks

Emperors sound like your best bet. It might be interesting to try the new "vintage a" heads from Remo as well; although they might ring a bit much for your liking. I say go emps and be done with it.

I'm currently using vintage emperors on my kit now. 10, 12, 16 toms and 14 snare (a PS3 is on the kick), and these heads sound great. I think someone earlier said the vintage emperors are a little thicker than regular emperors. White coated - a nice warm tone with clear heads on the bottoms. They feel great too.

I'd be in favor of Powerstroke3's, rather than Powerstroke4's .... however, if you want to go 2 ply ... coated Emperor. My kit (one of them) sizes ... 26, 13, 16, 18.

My kid recently played a headliner's kit with Vintage Emperors, sounded great. Very Bonham-y. Quite a bit drier than regular coated Emps even though they're not that much thicker.

Again Vintage Emperor's, Bonham used emp. when he played & the Vintage Emp. are supposed too replicate Emp. from that era. but I would go with a PS3 on the bass through
just personal preference.

I'd go with clear emperors or evans G2 . but when ever you have doubts about heads , get just one head (usually for the smaller tom) and try it , if you like it , tehn get heads for all your drums.
