Default 1928 - 28" head broken...What do I do?

I have a vintage Ludwig & Ludwig that had the original calfskin heads on it. Unfortunately, it got hot and the A/C broke and my batter head broke. I know I can't get what I want (which is an authentic 80 year old 28" calfskin head) But what can I do? What is the best option. Plastic just seems wrong...

I'm wondering what the cost of a 28" fitted calf head would be?

How expensive would it have to be to begin to consider a Fiberskin head? Which, at 28" isn't going to be cheap either....

28" calf would probably be a little north of $200 assuming it's tucked and of high quality. Treat it right and it could last you quite a long time though.

Definitely hit Stern Tanning up. If they won't deal direct call Stan or Jerry at Professional Drum in Hollywood - they have calf heads in stock (usually) and I think I saw a 26 calf re-head go out this weekend.
