Default Advice on new heads

hello everyone. I recently just joined a band and the kit i use is in desperate need of new heads. I wanted to get you guys opinion on what kind of heads i should get because i am really unsure. The band has a flyleaf,paramore sound. its a mapex kit. any opinion or advice is good.

Well, just about every day this question gets asked, and the default answer is Emperor batters over Ambassador resos (or G2s over G1s if you're an Evans guy).

Just gonna throw this out there... do a search on this forum or on Google for "Bob Gatzen tuning" to help dial in your new heads. Something tells me it will help you.

Hi Dizbstitch,

Check out James Culpepper's (drummer for Flyleaf) setup here:

That should help give you some ideas for head choice.
