I am going to venture to say that a 21" Rock Ride is going to be as crashable as the hull of you average commercial fishing boat. In other words Ping, Ping and more Ping.

I've played a 21" rock ride for years & yes it is crashable but it has more of a gong sound than a crash sound I like it myself & if you can get it for $50 I say go for it.

I might wanna add that I'm playing pop punk/punk/screamo :). Also, I don't think I'll really mind a gongy crash sound. And I'm probably gonna sell my 18" sabian aa medium crash to a friend for somewhere around $50, so, its a great deal i think. I'm gonna go for it.

Yes I have, and I also owned a 22" ping ride and a 20 medium ride for many years. I guess it's all in how you define crashable. To me the only Zildjian A, & I am talking current production standard Avedis models here, that I would deem as having pleasant crash sound is a Sweet Ride. Bonzolead best described the Rock Ride in saying that it's "gongy." I would agree with that.

The one I play is old school(1984) & I've used it in metal, rock, blues, jazz & country I think it's a versatile ride myself but I've been wanting a 24" Zildjian medium ride lately. I've heard the 24" K light ride but it's too washy for my tastes.

Good luck,
Bonzolead

I think the one im getting is actually from the 90's, so im assuming it'll say avedis, not a, although, i don't believe theres a difference, correct?

Drums&Beer: Thanks, maybe i should've phrased my question better. Also, I have a Sweet Ride :D. I love it :D. It will be taking up crash duties. Hehe.

Right on man. Considering the type of music you play, I think you'll have some good contrast with the two rides. You'll get a bit more stick definition from the Rock ride compared to the Sweet. And $50.00 for Zildjian ride is a very nice deal.

And I'm mostly gonna be using the sweet ride as a crash. the rock ride will be used anytime i need to have a riding part(which, im gonna be honest, is not too often.), and in really heavy parts ill crash on the rock ride. :D

Bonzolead- Thanks, im sure i will
