Default Drum and bass live sound

Alright so lately ive been experimenting with trying to get that drum and bass sound out of an acoustic set. I know that a good majority of drum and bass is just fl studio drums but im looking to try and get relatively close with me acoustic set. Im mostly looking at tuning my snare at this point in time but and tuning tips would be great. I also need to know which of these snares you guys feel would be easiest to work with:
1. 13x6.5 Mapex brass master
2. 10x5.5 Mapex maple side snare
3. 14x3.5 Pearl free floating piccolo (Maple)
4. 14x5 Ludwig Hammered BB
5. 14x6.5 Keller shelled maple snare
Thank you

Default Re: Drum and bass live sound

I havent tried enough of those drums to give you a defenitive answer...but what I can tell you is to try a drumbal. I use a Zildjian 10" A Custom splash with an extra hi hat clutch attached to use a handle. check out johnny Rabbs' use of the drumbal on youtube. A drumbal can be a relatively cheap way to drastically and non permanently alter a snare sound that fits DnB very very well.
