Hi and welcome,
OK, So you want to buy some drums and you have a budget. That is a good place to start. You also have some brands in mind, That is also good. Don't worry about being a hard hitter, All drums can take a punch. What are you looking for in a kit in the way of number of pieces and sizes? Are you looking for just drums or do you need stands and cymbals too? How about pedals, Do you need them? If so, single or double? I see that you are in Ireland, That also has a meaning as to your choice based on what is available to you in your market region.

Within 100 miles of you (albeit past the border), there are some awesome deals that 900 pounds will more than cover:
Here's a Sonor Force 3007 for 550 Euro in Louth: http://www.adverts.ie/245968/drums-a...e-2/#poststart Yamaha tour custom Fusion Kit for 750 euro with full cymbal and hardware setup http://www.adverts.ie/256207/drums-a...-hardware-etc/ You'd still have enough for top of the line cymbal/hardware upgrades after these deals. |

Yamaha makes the most solid hardware in the business, IMO, especially the YESS. You can pound on your drums and kick as hard as you want, and they won't budge. That Tour Custom kit looks like a great deal, and those cymbals are nice too, plus an IC double pedal. Obviously I dig the finish!
