Default Ludwig Double Pedal (VS. other pro level pedals)

I currently have my Tama Rockstar 8 piece kit for sale, and I am wondering if I should keep my Iron Cobra Power Glide pedal or not. I love the feel of my Iron Cobra, but the Ludwig double pedal (the beefier one with the double chain; the LM812FPR model) "looks" nicer to me. Maybe I'm being anal, but having Ludwig hardware to go with the kit might be pretty cool. Have any of you played the Ludwig double pedal? How does it stack up to other pro-level pedals?

Go for "playability" over "looks"....any day of the week. Get your feet on them. Who knows, you may like them better. But if you find you prefer you IC's then keep 'em. Play gear that's comfortable to you (especially pedals).....regardless of whether brands match or not.

Nothing wrong with matching hardware.......nothing wrong with mismatched hardware. There is something wrong IMO, with buying something that doesn't suit you purely because you want to marry up brands.

Try 'em before you buy 'em mate. There's no other way with pedals. Everybody looks for something different and only by playing them will you know if they can deliver.

Well, it looks like the Ludwig pedal is discontinued because I cannot find it anywhere local to try in person. If it really is discontinued, then I'll be keeping the Iron Cobras for a while until I can make a better decision. I really like the look of the higher end Yamaha double pedals too. Or maybe Ludwig will be replacing their pro model pedal with a new model soon. Heck, what am I complaining about? The Iron Cobra is pretty high end and has served me well! I just hate the look of the thing :)
