Default Bearing Edge Gap? What's it called? Drum Issue

Hey all,

I'm really not sure what to call it. If you look on the inside of a DW shell (the side of the bearing edge), you can see all the plys on top of one another. There is a little squiggly line where the inner-most ply meets in full circle.

I notice that one of my shells has a tiny gap in the squiggly line (S-seam), whereas all my other shells seem to meet in perfect fit. What does this mean?

I'd call it, my shells has a tiny gap in the squiggly line (S-seam) and it means, you have shells with a tiny gap in the squiggly line (S-seam).

Seriously, if it stays in tune and sounds good, don't worry about it.

I wasn't sure if it was because of temp change or if it's something that might potentially dmg the shell.
