As I recall there are 7 tacit bars of vocals/handclaps (the claps are on 2 & 4) and one bar of 8th note triplets on the snare, crescendoing from pp to f.

it sounds like the claps come in on the 5th note of the vocal melody, it sounds bizzare to me like it's not on two and four , even though it is, and it's hard for me to find the one since the drum fill starts before the melody is over, it would really help to see a transcription of this. thanks for your help though, it still puzzles me a bit.

not sure what you mean. to me it sounds exactly like what boomka described. 7 measures of handclaps on the 2 and 4 counts, then one more measure of eighth note triplets, increasing in volume. if it helps you, the singing starts exactly on the 1 count of the first measure.

If you read music, I've attached a quick sketch of the part. The top line is the rhythm of the vocals, and the cross note heads are the hand claps. Assume that all 8ths are swung.

Thanks for the help, both replys were correct, and thanks for the transcription. The confusion for me came because on the original recording it sounds to me like the first handclap comes at the fifth note of the vocal melody wich kinda just bleeds in on the album version, should be the third note if it's eighth notes to land on 2 , on the album it sounds like this in the begining, da da da da Dat da da da da da

The hand clap sounds like it comes in on the Dat. Anyway, That's all clear to me now, thanks for your help, this is a great place to get help from intelligent people.

The first clap is quiet, and it's only one person (probably Van) and then more people join in on 4.

Also, for those scoring at home, my transcription is wrong. The tied note in the second bar should be an eighth only.
