Default My killer steal sweet ride!

I went into guitar center today to get some guitar picks and I strolled through the cymbal room and saw this ride right in front on a stand in the USED section.

USED $159.99
I asked the salesman about it and he said some guy had a home studio and traded in all these unused cymbals and "upgraded". These rides usually sell for $284 in fact they had the exact same model for sell for that price in the "new" section. I am honestly impressed that the store didn't try to sell it as new. They said they got a bunch of other good stuff that flew out of there but this ride and a gretsch cat jazz kit was all that remained.

It sounds great, I actually prefered it to another sweet ride they had in the new section. It is relatively lower in pitch, great wash/crash, great stick defintion, killer harmonious bell!

A definite great find. I have that ride and love it. Very versatile and is till crashable if you give it a good whack. Excellent photos too by the way

I gave it a try tonight at my gig and it worked great. The boys in the band called it the "wall street" ride because the bell sounds like the bell they ring at wall street. They said it sounds like an E major. It really shined on the 6/8 ballads and the two step country songs. Good stuff.

I like the "genuine Turkish cymbals" followed by "Made in the USA"

The sweet ride, if you get a good one, is one of those magic cymbals where you can crash, ride, and everything else.

Which technique do you use to play it? (a cross thread attempt at humor)

don't most zildjian cymbals say that? It is rather silly though yeah lolz.

I recently wore a Zildjian t-shirt that says the same thing on the back. A friend of mine asked me how it was possible to make a 'genuine Turkish cymbal' in the USA. I honestly have no clue...

BTW, congrats on the Sweet Ride mcbike! I'm so jealous. I love that cymbal! I've been looking for a good deal on one myself. You can play any style on that thing. It's the ride cymbal equivalent to New Beat hats.

Nice find ! I have a few of cymbals from the avedis line and i dont like them, but that sweet ride sounds good. Probably the best sounding cymbal from that line.
