Default Head Suggestion

I'll start of by saying I have a set of Pearl Forum (10,12,14) and I need a head suggestion
The sound I want is from the song called Still Rock and Roll To Me by Billy Joel.
Right now i'm using G2 over G1 and It rings a little too much with poplar wood.

Wow, Libberty Devitto had a very dead sound on that song.

I believe he played a set of drums with no bottom heads, and very muffled toms.
I think you could get that sound with a roll of duct tape over just about any head.

The snare sound seems like it was heavily processed with outboard gear, although it's clear he started with the snare heads tuned very loose, and again tape.

EC2 over EC maybe? The toms do have a dead sound in that song.

don't forget all of those drums are played thru processors that make them sound how the producers wants to hear it. It's not always heads. EQ's , gates, etc etc etc all have an effect.

Yeah that's so true. I guess I just want a nice, deep tone. I've tried EC2 but i find they are too plasticky.
Currently I have my 10 inch with a nice tone, and my 14 but my 12 seems to want to ring for longer than expected. What should I do tuning wise?
