Default My NEW KIT! - Gretsch New Classics

I've been long due an upgrade, and finally managed to get a new kit a couple of days ago! Anyway, here's my current setup:

Gretsch New Classics in gold sparkle
  • 10" x 8" Tom
  • 12" x 9" Tom
  • 14" x 14" Floor Tom
  • 22" x 18" Bass Drum

Pearl Chad Smith Signature Snare Drum

Cymbals
  • 14" Paiste Formula 602 Hi hats
  • 20" Paiste 2002 Ride (Black Label)
  • 16" Sabian HHXplosion Crash Cymbal
  • 16" Sabian HHX Evolution Ozone Cymbal

Been tuning them today, and they sound amazing. I play a bit of everything, but I love anything funky, and it seems to do it really well.

Sorry about the quality of some of the pictures. The grainy ones were taken on my phone.

That kit is a beauty. That gold sparkle has a glass glitter look to it. I like the vintage looking badges, the drum sizes, the gold wrap. Hard to beat that kit. Congratulations, Sodbusterjim.

So it's not wiggly like catalina? The catalina / blackhawk suspension I tried were just crap.

The New Classic use a mount with two mounting spots on the top and bottom lugs. Great stuff.

I have no problems with the mounting hardware, there are some catalina's with the mount hanging in only 2 lugs, I think that would be crappy, but at least the cat maples have the mounts hanging in 4 lugs.
