Default My First Custom* Gretsch Snare

I pieced together my first snare drum from vintage parts off ebay. Its an old solid spun brass shell from the 80's which was drilled for Gretsch hardware. I refinished the shell and threw on some vintage Gretsch lugs, lightning throwoff and and adjustable strainer, internal muffler, key holder, Puresound snares and die cast hoops. Its outfitted with a Remo Vintage A batter and a Hazy resonant. This baby looks and sounds great. It was a pain in the ass to build though! I don't think ill ever work with Gretsch hardware again...

I paid roughly $400 for all the parts, and spent many hours buffing and building. At the time i was thinking i could do it for cheaper, but i didn't realize how EXPENSIVE Gretsch parts are! In the end i am very happy with it though because it is the sound i was looking for...

No badge yet. But i suppose a round badge or stop sign "t-roof" badge would be the most relevant. All the hardware is from the 60s/70s, except the shell which is from the 80's. Honestly i don't really know how this shell came into existence because i can't seem to trace it to any Gretsch inventory...
