For me:

Snare (14x6.5):
Remo Powerstroke III over a Remo Ambassador Snare

Toms (13x9, 16x16, 18x16):
Remo Emperor over Remo Ambasador

Bass (24x18):
Aquarian Superkick II

The worst heads I've had the misfortune of playing on this kit were the stock heads. Evans G1s, they were. Not bad heads in themselves, but single ply heads, on a kit that's called a club ROCK? I love Gretsch but somebody had a brain fart on that considering rock usually is synonymous with hard hitters. A tad annoying because the first thing I had to do was spend 160GBP/$250 reheading the whole kit.

Toms: Clear Evans G1 over Clear Evans G1
Snare: Coated Evans G1 over Evans Hazy 300
Kick: Evans EMAD2 over Evans Ported EQ3

Unfortunately, with me being a hard-hitting rock meathead, the G1s aren't very durable, so I generally go with 2-ply heads. I keep trying different combos, but I believe my favourite is simply replacing the G1s on top with G2s.

Snare: Coated Emperor over Snare side ambassador
Toms: Emperors (clear or coated depending on how I feel) over clear Ambassadors
Kick: PS3 batter and reso (....lol).

All drums unmuffled, unless I need an on-the-spot 'quick fix'

And least favourite: I'm with Sabian here. Any stock heads......if a good one exists, I haven't found it!

My new favorite setup, Evans G1's over the new G-plus. Awesome to say the least.
