Default Ludwig Accent as first drumset

So I'm a bass player (I play a little guitar and keyboard but I'm mainly a bass player) that really wants to learn to play drums. I can already sit down at a drum set and keep a beat (which is, sadly, more than can be said for some drummers I've played with :-) and I'm looking to buy a drum set. I found a 5-piece Ludwig Accent with Planet Z cymbals for $425. Is that good? My older brother is an (amazing ;-) drummer, but he mainly plays Pearl, so he doesn't know much about Ludwig. He said it's most likely fine for a starter set...and it's a good deal cheaper than a new one! It's a year old. Does anybody have any experience with these? Are they good for a first kit?
