Default Remo Clear Controlled Sound on Snare?

I'm gonna buy Sonor Danny Carey Signature Snare Drum , It's 14*8 , 1mm Bronze shell.
I wanna buy remo head for it , But where I live there isn't any head to get and listen to the sound & I'm gonna ask to bring me the head .
does any one know how Remo Clear Controlled Sound, sounds on Snare?

Clear ? No ...

You can NEVER basically go wrong with a single ply coated head on a snare drum! :)

I have used a Remo Clear with Black Dot on the snare for years. Nothing wrong with it and the durability is great.

I don't know about clear but I just put a coated CS on my 14" x 5" "EPIC" Ludwig snare and it sounds great.

I had a coated ambassador on the snare previous but the thin Birch/Maple shells made the snare too ringy IMO with the ambassador head.

the coated CS had just enough ring and with the black dot just enough muffle and makes the head a lot more durable.

i'm sure the clear CS sound good also i'm just prefer coated heads on snares.

Good luck,
Bonzolead

i havent had any experience with a clear CS, but i got a coated CS and it sounds great. Not sure if it helps. im guessing a clear one would sound more open, if thats what your looking for

Tony Williams used CS clears on all his drums including the snare batter (as evidenced around 4:44 of this video). He also used them on the reso side of his toms, but then again he used oversized 2Bs to play jazz. Go Figure.
