Default Aquarian Jack DeJohnette heads....anyone tried them?

Hey all,

I've been looking around to try find the right head for the dark, deep sound I'm looking for. I'm looking for something a bit different, even a bit 'out there'. I've tried a lot of heads like coated 2 plys, 1 plys, pre-muffled stuff....but theres something missing. I guess coated 2 ply comes the closest to what I'm looking for...but I want it a bit darker, a bit fatter.

I heard that these Jack DeJohnette heads might be what I'm looking for. I seen a clip of a drummer using them on youtube and they sounded like what I'm after...but then I saw Jack using them himself...and they sounded crap.

Could this be down to two different drummers tuning them as they like, or how they were recorded?

Has anyone tried them? Any help would be great before I go and spend the extra cash on them...in my area I'd have to get them ordered and they are a good bit dearer than your usual 1 ply coated head.

And if you happen to have any recordings...that would be a real bonus!

Thanks
