I don't know why I don't delete it. I just don't! I acquired it when I was studying the history of the Blues. Now all of you who click on it will have it! LOL You can do with it whatever you please! Please post the worst tune that you have in your collection so all of us can have a laugh. Here it is!

I like that song and I'm going to keep it. I've got lots of music like that and I love it. If that's the worst song in your collection then you've got a good collection I must say.
Thanks for the song, Bob! What don't you like about it?

Yes. You must have carefully erased any evidence of the 1980s from your collection.

"What is your name" by Bernard Purdie. I use it in classes to lighten the mood for students. Everyone agrees this song is the worst they ever heard.
Do you know the lyrics? I'll show you. "What is your name? What is your name?" etc etc etc. Then he guesses! "Veronica? Mork? Darth Vader? Something something Dark Side?" etc etc etc. Worst song ever!

Hey Bob, thanks for that lovely bit of old blues. I might have to chat with the guys and see if they'd like to cover it :)
As a King Crimson collector, and Crimson being one of those let's-try-it-and-if-sucks-never-mind kind of bands, there are plenty of songs there I can happily live without, especially their post-Bruford metal numbers. Blastic Rhino is one that comes to mind. Just plain ugly. Nism, that song you posted is, um, ah ... I dunno ... it makes me feel very, very old ... the singer sounds like he's fighting a losing battle with a giant dildo. I hope he feels better soon. |

Having 150 gigs of music, or a little over 30,000 songs, picking the single worst one would be nearly impossible. There are quite a few that I don't find particularly good, but I'd have no idea where to find the worst one. I'm happy to report that the vast majority are good songs though.

I think the worst song I ever heard was the entire first CD that Bozzio, Levin, and Stevens hastily threw together one weekend in an effort to generate some income (Bozzio's liner notes!). I heard they've done more since then, but I'll not get suckered by them again. Love those guys individually, but they weren't listening to each other at all - you could just hear them thinking "paycheck." And that cover photo...! |

I feel really old since I don't measure the size of my music collection in GBs. I do, however, have about 500 CDs. Any computer nerds want to do the math on that one?
The absolute worst song that I can think of in my collection is a track, 'Walter Bela Farkas' on a Kings X album called Tapehead. It's a really bizarre live track on an otherwise good release. I'm at work right now and can't post it, or a youtube link. But you have to check it out if you aren't familiar with it. My apologies for the damage it may cause to your ears... |

Actually, a tune I made 3 years ago. Sort of a parody on Norwegian blackmetal. Alle done in Reason, and on one take. Can you believe it?! Almost like those "shreds" videos on youtube.
The actual name is Blödsprüt - I dødens ytterste toalett which roughly translates to: "Bloodspurt - In death's outer toilet".

The Beatles are probably my all-time favorite band.
However, I agree with you on this. Fortunately, this song is not in my music collection. I suggest you get rid of it at your earliest convenience. If you have it on CD, I would suggest copying to a new CD (sans Hey Jude), then quickly destroy the original. If it's vinyl, then you can just scratch it into oblivion. Cassettes can be rigged, but if you have it on 8-track, you may be screwed. Good luck! |

Hey Jude isn't great, but it's certainly not the worst song ever. Certainly not the worst Beatles song even...
Why the hate? |

I've loved the Beatles since I was a small child.
Yeah, it's not the worst song ever... my post was more playful irreverence than hate. |

Thanks for the wild replies. I see that the saying, "One mans trash is another mans treasure" is true!
I find it interesting when I learn of what people like and dislike. I didn't have the intention of this thread turning into an argument about peoples musical likes and dislikes. Let's not have that please! I believe that there is no right or wrong answer on this subject. I just thought that it would be fun to see some whacky tunes that people have in their music libraries that they do not care for, But they don't delete for whatever reason.

The question was what's the worst song in your music collection, not the worst song ever, so in some cases and mine also I can see why Hey Jude would or could be the worst. That song is too long, and too sad, and back in the day when we young men were drafted into the Army, it was playing on the radio while I opened my draft notice. I will dislike that song forever. I too am a Beatles Fan, I have over 60 different CD's many videos, and many books, and I will tolerate Hey Jude.

Most Blues songs make me feel relaxed and almost happy when I listen to the lyrics, and the music together in context. This song doesn't do that for me! It just makes me anxious and nervous for some unknown reason. I don't feel, "The Blues Spirit" when I listen to it. I don't get that, "It's sad but It's OK" feeling. Still, For some unknown reason, I can't bring myself to delete it! I feel that even though I dislike it, It has some unknown significance that I can't understand.

Worst in my collection:
"Hey foxymophandlemama, that's me" - Pearl Jam (And, yes, that's the name of the song) I think, simply, because it scares the hell out of me every time I hear it!!!!

'I Want You to Want Me,' by Cheap Trick. Cannot stand this song. Sounds like a 5 year old could have written it. I must admit, not currently in my collection, but once was-30 years ago.
