Hello again.

I believe I was too cavalier in simply giving two names. For this I apologize.

You ask for Latin and Jazz, one of the best sourses for information on the combination of the two is this website: http://www.latinjazznet.com/

For jazz the incomparable Miles Davis is a fantastic starting point. AllAboutJazz has a great page here: http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/musician.php?id=6144

You can use the MD alumnis to pretty much go through jazz history. You take any musician, check who that person played with, then check who they played with etc etc etc, and you will learn a great deal.

Never mind, I'll be cavalier :)

For some Latin jazz try Return to Forever's first album:

Crazy jazz? Art Ensemble is my fave crazy jazz band:

How about The Mars Volta?

Not really "jazz" per say, but still a very fusion-y sounding band.

But then again its so hard to try and force bands into one genre so.... meh.

P.S. check out the title of my reply....Muhahaha!!!

Check out "The Wild Magnolias".
They are on you Tube and iTunes, etc. Google them.

John Scofield (fusion): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRzFaurWyjc
Aaron Goldberg Trio (insane mental jazz): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwU6x9jUQPs
Santana (if you prefer latin jazz and jazz fusion): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKo0FK6-O-E GO to 1:15 when Santana comes in

The Claudia Quintet is good, if you like modern,"weird" jazz.
