That's some nice drumming. Sadly I'm a beginning drummer so I can't give you any comments on any mistakes you might have made (let allone how to fix them).
I'd like to note though there's a separate sub forum for this kind of post (Your place - Your drumming) and you're more likely to get a proper response there. Last edited by Duracell; 01-18-2010 at 08:33 PM. |

UPDATE: We have a new song up on www.myspace.com/blindpedestrianarea. If anyone could critique my drumming on the song, "Left For Dead", I would really appreciate it. I've been working hard on trying to improve ever since the show in my original post.

I listened to Left for Dead. The problem I hear is it's a bit repetitive and needs some character. It's okay for a start on the song. I think you should go back and through each measure try to add a little spice to differentiate each measure. This goes for the whole band, including the guitarist and vocalist. try adding some alternate patterns on the hi hat instead of playing straight 1/4 notes. And maybe some extra snare hits on some measures, but not others to break up the repetitiveness. The guitar should do similar things to spice up the guitar. It also helps feel less repetitive if the bass line does something other than follow the guitar, but fits in with it and changes it up here and there. And the way the vocals follow the guitar makes it even more repetitive.
Hope that helps, David |

i've got one more update from a live show again this time. i think i've realized that i play too hard live and it throws me off a bit, but listen to the first song on www.myspace.com/blindpedestrianarea (Left For Dead Live @ The Space) and tell me what you think. I would really appreciate it.
