Can you guys recommend a good drum store in New York City?

www.maxwelldrums.com Steve Maxwell's Vintage- great snares, cymbals just around the corner from Sam Ash (not on the street level you have to go in the building and up the elevator)

Drummers World 151 W. 46th. St (two blocks away from the other two and up in the building

BE AWARE- if you go into some of these shops expecting a touchy feely experience you will be disappointed

They have great top level professional equipment (esp jazz oriented cymbals) but they can be aloof, indifferent or just unpleasant.

Its NOT YOU, just take it for what it is. If you're famous it's a different tune, but....

Sam Ash is probably the most friendly.

Just don't let them get to you and enjoy the visit.
