Default IPOD PROBLEM

i have 120 GB ipod classic today i had a red x on the screen and i couldnt get rid of it.
I smacked my ipod a few times and then it went away now the problem is that every time i turn it on it says i have 2 restore it but itunes wont let me. I have the latest version of itunes.

there's an apple help line number.. you could call that.

I'd suggest bashing it with a stick. might make a neat addition on any kit?

Go to Apple.com and look for their forums and explain your problem there. You should get some answers there.

try holding the center button and the menu button down at the same time for 10 seconds and you can reset it. I have an ipod nano that I fixed a few times this way

go on line and find your nearest applestore, book an appointment with their genius bar--its free. Mine would not restore and I took it in and they fixed it, my husbands had the same problem and they gave him a new one!!

this is really bad im gona loose all my music but i can get a new ipod beacuse its still under warranty

If your music is listed on iTunes you won't lose it.

I've had to 'reset' numerous times and have used the in store help desk before too. You WILL lose your music from the Ipod, but GD's statement is correct.....

Just plug the Ipod back into the computer and your songs will download from your Itunes library again.
