Default Arrgh...Hi-hat clunk

There has always been a problem that has plagued me ever since I got the kit. My hi-hat stand clunks when it opens, not good if your trying to get that jazzy tsa......tsa...tsatsa thing sound crisp and smooth. Is there a way of reducing or eliminating this noise?

BTW, my hi-hat stand is a Tama HH75W Roadpro Hi-hat stand, I'm not planing on replacing it anytime soon.

Check the felts or rubbers with the moving parts - best without hats - you will found out soon where the noise come from - and put there some dampening - whatever you feel appropriate - can be isolation tape.
