Default Vic Firth Headphones

Last year my folks bought me a pair of Vic Firth headphones for playing in my youth band. They're the kind with the cord that can plug in to things like in-ear monitors. Anyway, in the last few weeks I've been noticing that no sound is coming out of the left ear. I'm guessing that there's a short in the wire somewhere, but I'm not sure. I don't think there's a warranty on it and even if there was, it would probably be expired by now. Has anyone had this problem before and how should I fix it? Thanks!
