A good attempt but you set yourself a hard task. You weren't quite in the pocket and a bit hesitant on the fills/transitions. When I listen to the bass track, I can feel that the player is sometimes just behind the beat. His timing is spot on but his feel fluctuates. I think this has lead your playing.

You're right but my idea was not so much play in the pocket rather play a little bit on top,i made another version so pocket but maybe is a bit boring for me,wanted to do more with silences, cuts and things like that!,anyway remember it's justs
a backing track, playing with people in person is another trip where the things really works!.
Anyway my dear friend I know that you likes things simple and accurate as you said in another videos of mine which i have to give you big thanks because your criticisms were always the best and a big thanks for your time!, what about your band?got the hammond key player?,You should upload some video, i like your singer I still have the mp3 on my pc and I'm still listening.
excuse me for my short answers is that my language is not English and I must be translated sentence by sentence!.
all the best my friend!
Rod.

I thought it sounded pretty tight, with a nice feel. I also think it's pretty cool that you practice playing one song several ways, such as on top of the beat and in the pocket. Experimentation is the key! Keep it up man!

Wooten is definitely one of my favorite bassists and I thought you grooved very well with him. Nice drumming. That top tom is really cranked up!

Hey Rod, don't get me wrong, I love simple but I don't always like accurate. I'm a big fan of organic drumming in every genre. It's playing to a recording that's difficult and always gives a slightly clinical feel (it's a personal hate of mine). You're right, I'd love to hear you play in a band environment. You have a great natural feel that I think would come alive when you're with other musicians.

As for my little band recording. It was never meant to be posted. It was a recording of an audition of the singer. My band is forming nicely and the new keys player is monster! I'll post as soon as I have something. Fondest regards, KIS.
