I like that one also equally as well. There will never be another Ella, Count, and Duke!
Glad that you guys like this stuff as much as I do!
During these hard economic and war torn times, we can look to these people of the past who grew up during the great depression and the second world war. Their talent was unstoppable!
They overcame all of those negative vibes, and they dealt with extreme prejudice at the same time! Truly memorable people of note! (Pun Intended)

That was just awesome.

You got me surfing away at youtube and I found this one. Not only a great swinging classic, but check out Papa Jo's face as he plays at 2:08. Just wow. And one of the comments gets it exactly right ... the expression of the joy of jazz. Joey

If Papa Jo was there, There were smiles behind the kit! He was the happiest drummer that I have ever seen! He made the audience feel welcome with his captivating smile and charisma! Couple that with the fact that he was one of the best drummers to have ever put stick to head and you have the real deal!
