Default Thinking about an ekit for practice..??

I am in need of a practice kit and live in an apartment.. I tossed around the idea of a Pearl RT with mesh heads, but I am leaning now more toward an electronic kit.

I am totally a n00b when it comes to ekits Any suggestions for a good quality kit for practice on a $700 budget....??

My 13 year old nephew just bought a Yamaha DTXpress, with a small amp, off Craig's List, used, for $500.

Yamaha is a good bet, as is Roland used.

Roland TD4 or 6 would be worth looking at. New a TD4 is $999 in the US and so you'll have to look at used for that. The TD1 is really for beginners and because the pedals feel so odd I wouldn't recommend them for adults.

Since your name is Yamahammer then DTXplorer at $699 would seem a perfect fit.
