Default Studio time

So...i got a problem...

I'm in college in NYC and I realized there's really no where to practice drums....

So i'm guessing the only way to get a drum set alone that you can practice on is at a studio...

so does anyone know where i can find one in the city? how much the price/hour is? how do i contact them?

For me alone on a real drum kit, I usually use

http://www.thestudio.org/

You can purchase a 10-hour "solo session card", which allows you to book rehearsal time day-of, before 5pm (or so) when they get really busy. 10-hours $70 = $7/hour, don't think you can beat that in NYC. They have drum sets and cymbals, I usually only bring my bass pedal cuz you never know what you'll find there, or how it adjusted ... if you have to book days/weeks in advance, you could forgo the 10-hour card, but you'll pay more per hour...

I've also used these two, probably 2x the price
http://www.thejamnyc.com/
http://www.ultrasoundrehearsal.com/

Never used the following for solo practice but I've used them plenty for full band rehearsals
http://www.smashny.com/
http://www.funkadelicstudios.com/Site/Home.html

I've got an ekit in my apartment that I can do some practice on during certain hours of the day, I try to get to a real kit at least once a week outside of my band rehearsals....

Hope that helps!

Chris

Astoria Soundworks is also a good cheap-ish studio. Last stop on the N/W line in Queens.
