Default New to the forum

Hi,

I'm new to your forum and just thought I'd say hello. I've been spending some time trawling the threads and there is some really great advice here.

I've just started to play the drums and have a Ludwig CS Custom (Fusion) kit with Paiste PST3 cymbals. I've been messing about on my kit for a few weeks but have just started weekly lessons and have found these to be invaluable.

Hope to be speaking with you all in the future !

Cheers SB

Badgers are cool without any frills, but a SIZZLING badger? That is just awesome.

Reminds me of a tavern in Middle'earth or something. (prancing pony, etc...) heh

Welcome to the forum! Everyone here is awesome. There is never a shortage of good conversation and things to learn.

Good to meet you SB!

Hi there. Been a member of this forum for ages but never got round to a proper intro.

I'm 20 this year, been playing drums 6 months, and play an Arbiter Flats kit with Arbiter Standard cymbals. I'm in a band but as a bassist, playing indie music. My username comes from my real surname Albrecht and my fave cycling team Fassa Bortolo.

Hope to speak to some of you later!

real name: tyler
age: 15
how long i've been playing: dont' quite remember maybe 2-3 years since the birthday i got my kit
origin of username: a nickname i got that doubles as an insult...i don't seem to mind it.
top 5 drummers: hmmmm....neil peart, lars ulrich, brann dailor, nicko mcbrain, chris adler
make of drumkit: pearl export 5 piece
make of cymbals: mainly zildjian zbt or zbt plus, sabian b8, wuhan and other weird brands that have irresistible prices.
where do i practice: at home
are you in a band: yes, maybe multiple bands in the near future, but only one band right now, its going pretty slowly thanks to my guitarist who like to argue for fun.
covers or originals: both, i wish but the originals are coming very slowly
what style of music:i play thrash/doom/speed/power/ metal, and rock in some ways, i like playing d-beats for thrash metal, not so much of a fan of blast beats, but i can play a decent speed
country:USA! the state of missouri,
odd fact about me: i ride a shortbus to school, but that has nothing to do with the way i am. lol
how did I start drumming?: wanted a musical intrument for my birthday, either drums or banjo. I never really liked wanting to play guitar because i thought at the time that there was too much to learn about chords and weird stuff. and drums are more versatile than a banjo.

Name: David Ledoux

Age: 22

How long: 18 years

Led; is cause my last name is ledoux and my favorite band is led zeppelin.

Top 5: John Bonham, Phil Collins, Aaron Gillespie, Steve Gadd, Buddy Rich

Drumkit: Slingerland built in early 70's (my dad's drum) very well preserved built in Niles, Illinois, its black its a 4 piece: 13" - 14"toms, 18" floor and 24" kick, and i bough an 16" floor on ebay same color and same period. Snare: I had my dad's old 70's Super-sensitive snare 6,5"/14" and he want it back so i bought a supra-phonic black beauty brass on brass 6,5"/14" it sound amazing of course. All my hardware is from the latest heavy duty ludwig series, double-braced, two foot hi-hat plus 3rd little leg hi-hat stand works totally smoothly its the best hi-hat stand I've seen, speed-king kick pedal, convertible cymbals stands.

Cymbals: Paiste from 2008 series, just got them! Hi-hat: Rude sound-edge 14", Rude crash-ride 19", Rude Ride-crash 20" and 2002 wild ride 22". carried in paiste delux 22" bag. I use also for smoother stuff the Zildjian A custom 20" ping ride.

I practice in a rented space from a drylaundry downtown Sherbrooke PQ canada, we built a studio for our band.

I'm in a band called Semperfi www.myspace.com/semperfimusic777 we are currently recording an EP to get a label deal. Its our own compos but we are having fun to do covers just for practice and for fun.

Its really weird to say but we called it Northern Rock but its a mix of all our main influences, Underoath, Led Zep, Thrice, radiohead, arcade fire etc. We have folk songs, electro-acoustic, post-hardcore metal-core songs, classic rock songs so its pretty alternative lol.

Hum, Harveys, Subway, Super Pita, French baguette sandwichs, McDonalds

Québec, Canadaaaaa(french-canada)

I learned to love the coldness and humidity of where i live.

My dad started me up at 4 seriously, he was a drummer since he was 14, his dad was a musician all his life and his uncles too.its in the genes.

peace, aurevoir

Hi guys, sorry for the mix up, my friend actually registered the username for me :) Anyway, I am from Serbia, Balkan, Europe... I've been playing for quite some time now... I played Pearl Masters MMX (which I still have) and just recently bought this DW collectors. (I really like it, I think that it sounds better than MMX, but I'd like to check out Reference :)... I compose a lot of music, and have been mostly stuck in my room for the last ten years, just composing, practicing and playing various instruments :) For some unknown reason, I decided to do a bit of promotion of my works, and hopefully, soon, I'll open my web site, myspace etc. Anyway my music is mostly not very drummer oriented, but as I like drums (A LOT), I hope to one day make something interesting (hopefully a bit more arranged and purposeful) drum wise...
