Default Earbud Headphone Recommendation Wanted

For all you guys who run click tracks live and stuff like that, what earphones do you recommend? I want something I could possibly plug into a laptop or monitor system that isolates well and stays in your ear the best without falling out.

I use these and they're pretty good. Shure's E2c Isolation Ear Buds

They're about $100 but they isolate really well and have the different size sleeves that stay in your ear really well.

I have those shures and they do the job for the price. If I had to do it over I would get a pair with a "dual driver" design, because they get more bass. The shures are perfect for a click track, but if you want to also monitor the bands sound or play along to recordings I found it lacking on the bass. but for the price the shures are awesome. They come with 9 different pairs of ear covers so you can pick which ones you really like. (i like the clear ones) but the orange ones are excellent too at blocking out external noise.

Do those types of earphones really protect your hearing from loud sounds?

Yea I was thinking that. Would you not need some sort of isolation headphones on top of them?

Using the orange expanding foam they provide a great amount of isolation. I'm not sure about the exact number but something like 24 to 29 db of sound reduction.

I can hear my heart beat with them when it's quiet after a very physical song.

I have the super FI 5pro. They're considered introductory, but I think they're just fine. Not custom fitted or anything. Still way better quality and sound than you're single driver crap-in-ear. It's an awesome set, I'm completely satisfied with them. I found them new, for much less than the $250 price - ebay I think.

You definitely get what you pay for....

What brand are those and how much? I'm always looking to change up and or upgrade.

Are they dual driver?

I bought a pair of these two years ago at Wal Mart and they're still going strong today:

$30...they sound better and isolate better than $100+ earbuds that I've tried.

If your just going to use a click and care about isolation then their are numerous cheap options.

But if you ever think that you want to use them as in-ear monitors and be able to hear a good mix, save up and get something good. You don't have to go custom molded but get ones with dual drivers, they make a difference.

I got Westone UM2 and they are phenomenal, they run about $300 but I can monitor my drums and also monitor bass when I play that live without any issue in the low end.

If you don't want to spend that kind of money and can't get good seals on your cheaper ear buds upgrade them with Comply Foam tips. They are super comfortable and they make them as replacements for most brands.

Yea but you'd have to have them on full blast which could damage your hearing. You wouldn't walk down the street with them on full blast because they'd be too loud for comfort.
