The Mapex Saturn has a nicer low end with a good warm attack (thanks to the walnut/maple combo). The Oak Custom doesn;t resonate much but has a strong attack.
I'd personally go with the Mapex Saturn out of the two.

They should not even be mentioned in the same sentence. Seriously, they are very different sounding. I would pick oak custom bassdrum only for fast metal but go and try for yourself.
