Default Guitar Mag?

Need to buy a gift for a 12 year old boy who is into guitar. One of you ask your bandmate what the best magazine would be. Something like Modern Drummer or Traps.Thanks. Joey

Not a bad choice but, I read both Guitar Player and Guitar World every month and I would have gone with Guitar World for someone of that age... But I'm just making an assumption of what he might be playing/listening to at his age.

Guitar One a little newer publication I believe, they seem to have more
reference material. Such as tabs and what-not.

But the best guitar books ever........Mel Bay........essential for guitarists.

If he is fairly new to the guitar, i'd go with Total Guitar, no disrespect to the magazine. It has easier tabs, generally, compared to the others. They also tab out new tracks and songs. Guitar Techniques is also a good one, and generally covers a few more genres.
