Default Best cheap double bass pedal?

I've been playing drums for a few weeks and I listen to mostly metal. When I listen to music I really like the double bass and I want to start playing with double bass. I need to know what would be a good pedal but a cheap one for me to start with. Price range is $200 or less.

how much is "cheap" to you?

personally i would recommend playing for a few months atleast (i waited 4 years) until you get a double pedal

it will probably distract you from learning proper technique

well, I agree abaout playing for a few months before buying dubel pedals. from my expirience it will mostlly frustrate you.
if you still want to buy a good yet cheap duble pedals, i recomend one of two:
1. the "standard" Pearl duble base. their good.
2. buy second-hand.

hope I've been helpfull.

I just got the Gibraltar avenger II and I'm pretty pleased with it. Granted I've only had it a day now. But another good one would be this Pearl pedal,

I played it in a guitar center and it felt real good. Or I was looking at this Taye pedal,

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Taye-PSK...09-i1424895.gc

but I didnt get it because the store didn't carry them.

Look at the used pedals on guitarcenter web site, there's a DW 7002 in mint condition for 124.99 $

definatly agree here.. the dw 7000's are the best bet all around.. price, strength, stability they win in theyre class... iron cobra jr.s i think are around 200 now as well...

Definitely, the dw 7000 are nice, especially if you're starting on double. However, I do recommend a few months on single, there are many things to cover before getting on that blast beat. ; )

honestly, ive had a pdp double for over two years and havent had any problems. best $100 ive ever spent. I figure once I really outgrow it I'll go crazy and get some eliminators, dw's or iron cobras.

if you've only been playing for a few weeks, i know its not what you wanna hear, but you should definitely wait awhile...most people would probably say it took them a few years to go double.

I'm not going to lie, save up and buy a pedal that wants to play metal. PDP doubles will work, but when I played PDP pedals and believe me they didn't want to play metal as fast as I wanted them too. Haha. as doubles, they worked like an absolute charm, but in they end they just will not compete with Iron Cobras or DW 5000s.

Save up each penny and buy the double pedal that will last you for the next 20 years because when you do that you won't want to stop drumming. You invested into it.
