I am playing on a Tama Rockstar and am looking to deepen the sound of my toms and eliminate a lot of overtones. I like a little bit of resonance, but a quick fade. Thanks! |

Welcome to the forum bigpapabds
For the sound you described, I'd say the EC2's would work better. G1's might be what are on the bottom of you drums. The EC2/G1 combo will warm up, and beef up the sound without adding a longer tone too. Evans heads overall have a slightly warmer/beefier tome to them vs. the same 'type' of Remo head (even though I play Remo). Durability depends on how you play them in any head/brand. Different people have different problems with any head maker (as you'll see going through threads!). Good luck.
