Default Single /Double chain double bass pedal ??

Ive been offered the chance of a tama double bass drum pedal for 85, but its only a single chain. I own both a single and double chain single pedal and i much prefer the double chain on the big dog pedal, but have never owned a double bass pedal and am wondering if the single chain would really effect anything..Thanks

It depends on the quality of the pedal. I've got a Pearl 122 double pedal that is single chain, and that sucker is fast and smooth. It's the cheaper version of the Eliminator, but it's a quality pedal. I've also got a higher end Gibraltar that's double chain, and it feels quite a bit heavier than the Pearl. Now, if you get a lesser quality pedal that's single chain, then it's probably gonna feel rougher than something of higher quality that's double chain. The best thing you can do is try out the pedal you're being offered.
