Default Mounting Auxillary Equipment from Hihat Stand

In an effort to reduce kit transportation weight, I recently began mounting a 5x6 popcorn snare and a cowbell holder off of the my hithat stand. I was wondering if any others have gone this route?

I find that the hihat stand is still very stable. It's a Yamaha HS740.

I use a Yamaha CSAT926A 3-hole clamp, a yamaha tom arm and a Yamaha cowbell holder CWH 930.

I was thinking of doing this, the only problem is that it's only a 2 leg stand and it has a habit of toppling over if i do that.

I used to mount to my hihat stand a rod that held a timbalito, LP Jam Block, Jam Bell, agogo blocks and a clerk's bell. As long as you balance it right, it's a great way to go.

I have flown my 14" tom off of my 2 legged DW 5000 stand. It works just fine. I just have to rotate the 2 legs around to support it. Check my signature for additional pictures.

Tambourine and cowbell using a Gibraltar SC-DPLAC Dual Post L-Rod Attachment. Not as heavy as a popcorn snare, but I'd put money on it's ability to handle the weight.
